Sewer Availability Charge (SAC) is typically determined by water use or occupancy loading.
Guidelines for determining SAC units are outlined in the Metropolitan Council procedure
manual dated January 1998. A portion of the manual is attached. Recent examples for
determining SAC units are:
Daycare 1 SAC unit per 14 children
1 SAC unit per 490 square feet of building space
Restaurant 1 SAC unit per 8 seats
(full -service)
Restaurant 1 SAC unit per 22 seats
(fast-food)
Retail Stores 1 SAC unit per 3000 square feet
