Box 240, Hanover, Minnesota 55341 Plans Dated: July 19, 2006 Date Received: August 15, 2006 Date Reviewed: August 17, 2006 SCOPE: The plans and specifications describe the water service and building sewer connections for the referenced facility. The review is limited to the design of this particular project only, and does not cover the plumbing within the building. The review is based upon the supposition that the data on which the design is based are correct, and that necessary legal authority has been obtained to construct the project. The responsibility for the design of structural features and the efficiency of equipment must be taken by the project designer. Approval is contingent upon satisfactory disposition of any requirements included in this report. Special care should be taken to insure that the material and installation are in accordance with the provisions of the Minnesota Plumbing Code and applicable licensing requirements. Enclosed is a copy of the report and transmittal letter to be forwarded to the project owner. INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations, including water service and building sewers, must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to notify the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry when an installation for a state contract job, licensed facility, or project in an area where there is no local administrative authority is ready for an inspection and test. To schedule inspections, contact the state plumbing standards representative for your region, or call Jim Peterson at 651/284-5889. REQUIREMENT(S): 1. This approval is for the site utilities only. Plans and specifications for the interior portion of the plumbing system must be submitted to and approved by our office prior to installation. If after review of the construction plans for the interior plumbing, it is found that the portions of the site utilities are undersized and/or non -compliant, the site utilities must be brought into compliance with the Minnesota Plumbing Code before installation of the interior plumbing may begin. 2. The water and sewer services must be installed in accordance with the Minnesota Plumbing Code (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0320). 3. The PVC plastic pipe material to be used for the building sewer must meet one of the following ASTM Standards: D3034, F789, D2665, or F891. The installation must comply with ASTM Standard D2321 (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0530). 4. The 8-inch sanitary sewer must be installed with a uniform slope of at least 0.5 percent (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2400). A portion of the 8-inch sanitary is shown with a slope of 0.4 percent on the submitted site plan. 5. The utility services must be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820. All portions of the storm drainage system located within 10 feet of the water service line must be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820. 7. The water piping system shall be disinfected in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2250. NOTE(S): 1. The scope of this project consists of installation of water, sanitary, and storm sewer services for a future building. 2. This building will be served by new municipal water and sewer service connections. Prior to the installation of additional plumbing, not covered by this review, plans and specifications must be submitted to and approved by this office. Authorization for construction in accordance with the approved plans may be withdrawn if construction is not undertaken within a period of two years. The fact that the plans have been approved does not necessarily mean that recommendations or requirements for change will not be made at some later time when changed conditions, additional information, or advanced knowledge make improvements necessary.
