Dear Mr. Lewandowski:
On October 27, 2005, I conducted a field review of the locations where sidewalk repairs were made
earlier this summer. While all of the concrete work has been completed, there are a number of areas
where turf restoration or driveway repair has not been completed satisfactorily. The attached inventory
identifies the areas where additional restoration work is required. For turf restoration, work to be
performed includes placement of topsoil borrow and seeding. Driveway restoration work consists of
sealing the open joints at the removal limits. Please arrange to complete the remaining turf and driveway
restoration before the end of this construction season.
On a related matter, the City has received a bill from the homeowner at 10205 49th Street for repairing a
sprinkler line that was damaged when the sidewalk was replaced. The property owner has paid the bill
and is requesting reimbursement.
In my field review, I also noted the wetland mitigation areas that were created this summer are now dry.
As you may recall, Edina Development is responsible for seeding and mulching the wetland mitigation
areas and some of the work was deferred because the mitigation areas were submerged. In mitigation
area 2M, there are several sump pump discharge lines that need to be daylighted to the mitigation area.
Please arrange to complete the necessary seeding, mulching, and tiling before freeze-up this fall.
