Dear Mr. Lewandowski:
Officials with Wright County Highway Department have informed me that you are charging
approximately $19,000 for an easement to accommodate a bituminous trail along CSAH 18. The
County is constructing the trail at the request of the City. This trail has always been part of the
planning effort associated with your project. Early plans show the trail within the CSAH 18 right-
of-way. This location of the trail was not going to be allowed by the County or the City. The trail
was going to be built on the Albert Villas property within an easement that would have been
dedicated as part of the plat. Because of the upgrade to CSAH 18 everyone agreed that it would be
best to add the trail construction to the CSAH 18 project.
The City of Albertville is responsible for all costs associated with the trail construction, including
land and easement acquisition. If there is a cost for easement acquisition across the Albert Villas
Development, the City will be responsible for this cost and pass this cost back to you. I believe the
process would be simplified if you would agree to the easements for the trail at no cost to the
County.
Please call me if you have any comments or questions.
