On Monday July2Sth, stafffrom the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR), Wright
County Soil and Water Conservation District and I reviewed the wetland violations that may be present
on your property. This review was two-fold. One purpose was to review the site and verify that a
wetland violation was present. The other purpose was to determine what course of action would be
needed if a violation was present.
It was determined that all but two of the lots that had originally been identified did have a wetland
violation. It was also determined that as all impacts are technically illegal that there would be no
exceptions, and that some sort of restoration or corrective action would need to occur in each instance.
At this point, the City of Albertville, Edina Development, and the MNDNR are working together to
negotiate a way to correct the problem. It is my goal to minimize hardship to residents, and I am working
to find an alternative to corrects all the problems, relieves legal liability for the wetland violations,
establishes a new endpoint from which any future violations can be identified, and has minimum impacts
on all involved. I believe that we have a solution, and all regulating authorities have provided tentative
agreement.
As this issue is still being resolved, I will make every effort to keep everyone informed. It is my hope
that future correspondence will be able to outline a solution. No firm deadlines have been set, but I
anticipate most, if not all, of the wetland issues associated with Albert Villas to be complete by the end of
August.

solution as soon as we can.
