Knowlton Culver Sheridan Knowlton Even & Franks 250 Terrace Plaza P.O. Box 629 Muskegon, Michigan 49443 Re: City of Albertville; Outlets at Albertville; County Highway 19 Improvement; Reclassification of Special Assessments. Dear Mr. Knowlton: I have received your letter of June 2, 2000 regarding changing the classification of the special assessments to "Development Taxes." I have discussed a change of this nature with the Wright County Auditor's office, and was informed that a name change for the special assessment should be able to be accommodated (as opposed to a change in where the special assessment appears on the tax statement, which cannot be done). Accordingly, I am sending the attached letter to the County Auditor requesting that the change in name be made. Because the 2000 tax statements have already been issued, this change will show up for the first time on the 2001 tax statements. The special assessment will still appear at the bottom of the tax statement under the "special assessment" heading (that heading is part of the preprinted tax form), but will no longer reference road improvements, but will instead be reference "Development Taxes." I will copy the Auditor's response to you. I have also received the attached memo from Pete Carlson, the City Engineer regarding the paving of the shoulders and the final paving on Wright County Highway 19 immediately adjacent to and south of the Outlets at Albertville. Because the contractor is not willing to do the work at night, Mr. Carlson would prefer that the work be done during the day on June 26, 27 and 28. As detailed in Mr. Carlson's memo, the work will not stop traffic on highway 19, but will only slow it down and require lane shifting during the construction.
