2004-04-07 Mud Lake Outlet-A SEH April 7, 2004 Ms. Patricia Fowler Area Hydrologist MN DNR 940 Industrial Drive South Suite 103 Sauk Rapids, MN 56379 Dear Ms. Fowler: RE: Albertville, Minnesota Mud Lake Outlet SEH No. A ALBEV 0314 32 We would like to finalize the permit application for the Mud Lake (86-26P) outlet which we submitted to your office last fall. The following items are in response to your letter dated Nov. 7, 2003: 1. The watershed model shows that a 27-inch culvert at elevation 945.9 will meet your office's requirement of maintaining the existing outlet elevation and also meet the 17.1 cfs Mud Lake peak discharge agreement with the City of Otsego (for the 100-year rain event). We propose to change our application to this outlet configuration. 2. The natural runout location for Mud Lake has not been touched by any of the Mud Lake outlet cleanout operations we conducted. This area has not been surveyed by SEH for any City projects, so we cannot determine if the existing channel profile matches what the DNR surveyed in 1986. We are assuming the existing designated DNR runout location and elevation are still the official outlet characteristics. Please advise us as soon as possible as to the next steps we need to take to finalize this application. You can reach me at 320.229.4383 with any questions.
