2005-10-18 PH Proposed Assessment:October 18, 2005 NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED ASSESSMENT Notice. is hereby given that the City Council of the. City of Albertville, Minnesota, will meet at 7;00 p.m. on the 7~' day of November, 2005, at the Albertville City Hall, 5975 Main Ave. N.E., Albertville, Minnesota, to pass upon the proposed assessment of costs related to the street improvements benefiting the plat of Hunters Pass in the City of Albertville. The properties proposed to be assessed are located. in the City of Albertville, Minnesota and-are located as follows: :Government Lot 1 and Government Lot 2, Section 36, Township 121, Range 24, Wright County, Minnesota. The amount to be specially assessed against your particular lot(s), piece(s) or parcel(s) of land are as follows: PID# Proposed Assessment Amount 101-500-361100 $282,674.00 101-500-361 l01 $1,000.00 You may at any time prior. to certification of assessment to the County Auditor, pay the entire assessment on such property to the City Treasurer with no interest accrued to the date of payment. No interest shall be charged if the entire assessment is paid within 30 days from the adoption of this assessment. You may at any time thereafter pay to the County Auditor the entire amount of the assessment remaining unpaid, with interest accrued to December 31 of the next succeeding year. If you. decide not to prepay-the assessment before the date given ' above, the rate of interest that will apply is 6.50% per year: The right to partially prepay the assessment has not - been authorizedby City ordinance. The City is proposing to spread the assessments over-a-four-year period. The proposed assessment roll is on file for public inspection in the City Clerk's office at City Hall. The total amount: of the proposed assessment is $283,674.00. Adoption of the proposed- assessment by the City Council maybe taken at the hearing. Written or oral objections will be considered at the meeting. No appeal maybe taken as to the amount of the assessment unless a written objection, signed by the property owner, is filed with the. City Administrator prior to the hearing or presented: to the. presiding officer at the hearing: An owner may appeal an assessment to the District Court pursuant to Minnesota Statutes. Section 429.081 by ,serving written notice of the appeal upon the Mayor or City Administrator. within thirty-(30)days after the adoption of the assessment and filing such notice with the District Court within ten (10) days after service upon the Mayor or City Administrator. Minnesota Statutes Section 435.1.93 through:435.195 authorize a municipality to defer the payment of assessments. against homestead property owned by persons. 65 years of age and older, or who,are retired because of permanent and total disability under circumstances where it would be a hardship for such person to make the. assessmentpayments. When deferment of the special assessment has been granted and is terminated for any reason provided in that law, all amounts accumulated plus applicable interest become due.
