Lift Station Shop Drawing Submittal
Albertville, Minnesota
SEH No. A-ALBEV 0109.00 78X
I reviewed the lift station submittals delivered on March 15, 2001 and have the following
comments.
1) The calculations faxed to me by Adam Ginkel on November 14,2000, show a pump capacity
of 235 GPM and a total dynamic head (TDH) of 38 feet required for this lift station. The
pump specifications included with this fax show a three phase, 5.0 horsepower pump,
capable of pumping 251.5 GPM at a TDH of 38.0 feet, which is acceptable. The submittal
from Electric Pump dated January 30, 2001, shows a single phase, 7.5 horsepower pump
capable of pumping 453.0 GPM at a TDH of 33.0 feet. This does not match the original
design.
2) Include safety grade on access hatch for the wetwell.
3) The lift station details indicate a 6-inch flange connection for the pumps, however, the
Electric Pump submittal shows a 4-inch connection.
4) Forcemain bends inside wetwell shall be 6-inch by 90 degrees, not 4-inch by 6-inch by 90
degrees.
5) Core valve manhole cover above each gate valve and grout in top of gate valve box for
access by city maintenance personnel.
6) The 6-inch gate valves shall have standard operating nuts, not hand operated wheels.
7) The aggregate base foundation for the valve manhole shall be wrapped in geotextile fabric.
8) The electrical engineer should review and sign off on the electrical portion of the submittal
from Sweeney Controls.
Please revise and resubmit. Call me at 320.229.4373 if you have any questions.
