We have revIewed the prelImmary utIlIty plan and constructIon plan for the above mentIoned
development that we receIved from you WIth your transmIttal letter dated June 9, 2000 We
have revIewed the plans WIth regard to access to County State AId HIghway 18 for this project
Aspects of mternal draInage, street Improvements, and gradmg mternal to the development
should be revIewed by the CIty Engmeer for conformance to CIty standards We offer the
followmg comments
1) The reconstructIon of this segment of CSAH 18 IS m the County's five year
plan, antICIpated for 2001 However, there IS the pOSSIbIlIty that thIS work may
not be completed untIl 2002 Therefore, proposed accesses that would be
constructed this year wIll be reqUIred to have turn lanes constructed thIS year
also The 65 feet WIde nght-of-way dedIcatIOn WIll allow room for UtIlItIes, turn
lanes, etc
2) Access permIts WIll be reqUIred for each new access proposed for CSAH 18
RIght turn and bypass lanes wIll be reqUIred to be constructed for each proposed
access The nght turn and bypass lane constructIon should be shown on the
plans (turn lane layouts are enclosed for your use) Culvert InformatIOn should
be provIded to demonstrate that an adequately SIZed RCP pIpe IS provIded for
dItch dramage The most northerly access of Kahl A venue and CSAH 18
should be moved to the north as far as possible to create as much spacin~ as
possible from the townhome access on the North side of CSAH 18. Please
submIt the completed access permIt applIcatIon to RIchard Marquette of our
office
