Dear Paul,
Per our conversation, Cottages of Albertville does wish to find a permanent solution to future
water penetration into subsurface ductwork and will provide to your office within 120 days
proposal(s) from certified and licensed heating, ventilation and air conditioning contractor(s).
The scope of work will require, at time of furnace replacement, an above grade venting system,
to provide adequate comfort to the occupying resident(s).
As your office may have experience this issue with other buildings within the Albertville area I
request you provide any reference applicable to the scope of work.
The proposed work by Jesse Trebil Foundation Systems, Inc may correct the subsurface water
issue, but we wish to work with your office and seek an alternative solution.
Sincerely,;

Jerry,
Thanks for your patients on this.
I was able to put together the costs for the work needed to change the systems from down flow to up flow.
The attached proposal assumes we would be installing a new furnace, ac coil, and ac condenser (outdoor
unit). the equipment is all from 1998 or earlier. Its possible to keep the existing AC Condenser to save a little
now, but it would cost more to do it later.
Take a look and let me know if you have any questions.
This work would cover everything Paul from the City mentioned he would be looking for.
Have a good day,
Nick

Were you able last week to get to Cottages of Albertville and determine if an updraft hvac system is
feasible.
Thanks

Jenny,
Next week, kindly contact Nick Bender of Countrywide Heating at 612-963-9691 and schedule a meeting
for Nick to inspect the hvac system in a typical unit at Cottages of Albertville. I have contracted with Nick
Bender to provide a scope of work specification that will change our hvac system from a downflow to an
upflow system, using the attic for duct air distribution. Nick will need to have Paul Heins, City Inspector,
sign off on the specification.
Feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
Jerry

Air gap or indirect waste would require a vented receptor to discharge into, due to the amount of water discharged at
one time it will require a vented standpipe or vented floor drain, your existing floor drains would not be individually
vented and could not be used for this application. If you do provide a vented standpipe you would not have to vent the
sump tank.

Good morning! Quick question about the proposal for the sump baskets. We would just to like to confirm that sealed
vented baskets will be required and also will an air gap be sufficient for the discharge?
Jerry, If vented baskets are required, the residents in these 6 homes will not be able to have a washer and dryer in their
units. The baskets will take up the floor space in the utility rooms.
