Events from FCD week end were reviewed – discussion as followed:
General Comments – Comments heard 1. After not being at the event for several years, this person
noticed that it appeared cleaner, more family friendly and felt safer even after dark. 2. Tip from
community member that one of the carnival game vendor was soliciting and selling marijuana and
paraphernalia from their booth. Leroy made note and will follow-up 3. Complaint/concern over the
Turtles that were being used as prizes
Garage Sales – Larry took a poll and 37/37 visitors lived outside the area miles away. Sales seemed to
be slow or non-existent by Saturday and Sunday. Heavy traffic on Wed. and Thurs.
Craft Beer night – Music went well. Believed to have had 425-450 in attendance
Bed Races – Only 1 entry – unsure about event next year.
Softball – May make some changes to the # of teams and add $ incentives. Some said they could not
find the bracket updates – will attach a link next year.
Villains – May bump it up next year to not interfere with the fireworks.
Carnival – Sunday was well attended – maybe best ever. Some ticket pricing was sold for $18 rather
than the $20 it should have been.
ReMax – weather balloon rides did not happen due to weather
Kid’s Parade and Toddler Town will be closer together in times next year.
Classic cars – had around 70 cars – good turnout despite the rain
Craft/Vendor Fair – Layout was good – rain may have held some people back. Possibility of having it off
site next year or on a different day/time.
KMC event – start time of 11:30 rather than 12:30 next year
Albertville Royalty events – all went well Update since meeting – Haley Rogers, Miss Albertville 2017-18
was just crowned Queen Of The Lakes with the Mpls. Auqatennial – FIRST TIME IN HISTORY!!
Book Bingo – appeared to go well – competing sound from KRWC
Parade – went well – had some late entries
Beer Mugs – Sponsorship on par – maybe a bit up.
