Thank you for your prompt response to our request for a Letter of Support in our application
for a MnDOT 5310 Grant. We received your letter and appreciate your partnership in this
effort.
After numerous meetings, as we worked through the extensive grant application process, we
felt it would be best to postpone our current request for funding through the 5310 program for
another year. Our rationale to postpone this effort is to explore other options that recently
made themselves available to us. One of the primary options is to continue our effort to work
more closely with our local transit provider, River Rider, in determining how they can help us in
serving our clients. Currently, we are working to strengthen this relationship as we determine if
our transportation needs can be met. This continued effort has the potential to increase the
use of public transportation thus not duplicating services in our community. Additionally, we
will be exploring a more cost effective means to provide transportation to our clientele, while
still delivering the level of service Guardian Angels is known for.
We will keep you informed as we move forward. We will keep your Letter of Support on file and
call on you if we determine our transportation needs lead us to apply for the next grant cycle.
