Dear Sirs:

It is my under~tandin9 that the Albortville Plnnnins & Zoning
commission will bo considering elmendments to the zanin9 ordinance
regarding the permitting of a mini-~torage warehous~ f~cility. It
is also my undQr3~nndin9 thelt the developer would like to bu11a
sAvAral mini-ctor::t9c buildi.ng_ on the same lot, which uppears to be
common praceioQ in the mini-ctoragc wQrehouee industry. However,
the Albertvillo Zoning Ordinance currently allows one principal
,building on oach lot (see definition of ItLot" on page 14).
Whil9 there are sevQral ways to amend the ordinunce to allow
multiple mini-storaqe buildings on one lot, Kevin Mealhouse and I
believe that the beet prooedure would be to add tlmini-storage
warehouse, one buildinq per lot" to the permitted uses under the !:S-
3 district., and add "mini-s1.;.uL'i:\ge warehouse, multiple buildinqs on
one lot" to the conditional uses under the !:S-J district. With
the~a changQs, Q IQnd owner in Q B-3 district can build one m1ni-
ctoraqa buildin9 without. a conditional us~~ but would need to seek
additional approval if he later wanted to construct more buildings
on tha same lot.
This solution would appear to beet mcet the needs of potential
developers Wishing to construct mini-storage warehouses as well as
