PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION October 13, 1998 Albertville City Hall 7:00 PM PRESENT: Chair Howard Larson, Commission Members Carolyn Bauer, Dan Robertus, Jim Brown, and Patti Stalberger, Zoning Administrator David Lund, Deputy Zoning Administrator Linda Goeb, and City Planner Liz Stockman Chair Larson called the regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission to order. Robertus made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Brown seconded the motion. All voted aye. Bauer made a motion to approve the minutes of the September 9, 1998, regular meeting as presented. The Commission discussed the zoning of the southwest quadrant of the city. The properties lies south of County Road 118 and west of County Road 19 and is currently zoned A-I (Agricultural Rural). Several property owners have inquired about the potential of rezoning the area. Several residents present at the meeting expressed their desire to have the property zoned residential. No one in the audience objected to rezoning to residential. City Planner Stockman told the Commission that residential zoning of this area is appropriate. The golf course and housing development is directly across County Road 118 and the area abuts residentially zoned property in the City of ST. Michael. Brown made a motion to recommend the City Council initiate an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan showing the land use of the properties south of County Road 118 and west of County Road 19 as residential and to consider rezoning those properties R-lA. Robertus seconded the motion. All voted aye. Brown made a motion to leave the area north of 1-94 and west of County Road 19 zoned PUD (planned Unit Development) for the time being.
