SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
DEOEMBER 4, 1986
A spec1al meet1ng of the Albertv111e C1ty Counc11 was called to
order by Mayor J1m Walsh. Members present 1ncluded Gary Schwenzfe1er,
Don Cornel1us and Bob Braun, wh11e member Donatus Vetsch was
absent. Others present 1ncluded Maureen Andrews and Arlan M1ddleton.
The purpose for the spec1al meet1ng was to reV1ew the League of
Mlnnesota Clt1es quote for umbrella coverage WhlCh the the Clty
lnsurance agent had Just rec1eved.
Arlan Mlddleton went through the quote and explalned ltt and 1n
add1tlon he explalned that the spec1al meet1ng had been called,
because the League would back date the coverage and 1f the C1ty
d1d dec1de to take the coverage there would exposure for any , ,
t1me the pol1cy was not enforced.

Arlan p01nted out that ne1ther Publ1C Off1cials or L1quor were covered
under th1s umbrella. The ~ubl1C Off1c1als lS not covered because
the C1ty went w1th Tudor Insuance and L1quor because the C1ty
does not own any mun1c1pal llquor stores. There was a quest10n
regard1ng 11quor be1ng served at C1ty Hall for a fund ra1ser or
serV1ce organ1zat1on meet1ng. Arlan expla1ned that a fund ra1ser
would be covered under the dram shop 1nsurance requ1red and the
case would f1t under the catagory of "host l1quor" wh1ch 1S part
of the C1ty's general 11b111ty.
There were thenlBlmotlon made by Bob Braun and seconded by Don
Cornel1us to approve the umbrella coverage of $1,000,000.00 in
add1t1on to the $60,000.00 coverage of the C1ty general 11b111ty.
The cost of the add1t1onal coverage lS $3,103.00.

The follow1ng vote was counted: Bob Braun-~aye, Don Corne11us--aye,
J1m Walsh--aye and Gary Schwenzfe1er--nay. the result was 3,to 1
and the mot1on carr1ed.
