ALBERTVILLE CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
May 5, 2000
Albertville City Hall

PRESENT: Mayor John Olson, Councilmembers Bob Gundersen, Keith
Franklin and John Vetsch, and Administrator-Clerk Linda Goeb
Mayor Olson called the special meeting to order. The purpose of the
meeting is to consider the request from JMJ Properties to allow temporary outdoor
food establishments at the Outlets at Albertville for a period of four months or
less.
Franklin made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Gundersen
seconded the motion. All voted aye.
Sally Thompson, property manager for the Outlets at Albertville, told the
Council that the sales at the mall have been phenomenal and that the one
complaint she hears is about the lack of food sales. John Anderson, the owner of
the Subway store, explained that he does not generally recruit competition for his
business but that he is having problems keeping employees because of the
incredible workload. He supports JMJ's request to have outdoor temporary food
sales.
If the Council grants the request, Thompson explained that D & D
Concessions would open two 20' trailers to sell hot dogs, brats, etc. on Saturday.
Vetsch made a motion to approve having two 20' trailers providing outdoor
food sales at the Outlets at Albertville effective immediately and extending
through the Labor Day weekend. The City Council reserves the right to place
regulations and/or restrictions on the food sales should problems arise. Gundersen
seconded the motion. All voted aye.
