Albertville Parks Committee meeting minutes
June 2, 2015
Attendees: Tim Guimont, Andy Swanson, Larry Boller, Sharon Oakvik, John Vetsch, LeRoy

Parks night
- About 80 hot dogs were served by the Foxtailers at Villas. Gonzo the Clown was a hit, emptied
a pitcher of orange drink
- Space Aliens ran out of samples in 45 minutes at Linwood; brought only one tray
- Larry estimates Emma’s served 200 donuts
- John Hardy’s served at Winter Park
- Andy’s gave 19 pizzas at Four Seasons
- LeRoy needed 45 total minutes to distribute the orange drink to all six parks
- Gonzo was really popular. Committee suggests having similar entertainment at each park;
such as city equipment at one park, fire truck and sheriff at another, live music, raptors, WCSO
K9 unit, etc.
Oakside shelter
Council OK’d committee’s recommended purchase of a shelter for Oakside Park. It has been
ordered (green roof, beige poles). Anticipate installation late this summer.
Play equipmennt
Some equipment has faded, especially at Westwind. Is there a product that can be put on to
revive its appearance?
Park tour
For the next meeting, committee will meet at city hall and then depart for tour of several parks
(Westwind and Oakside) to evaluate layout, trails and equipment.
