Albertville Parks Committee meeting minutes
January 25, 2016
Attendees: Tim Guimont, Larry Boller, Sharon Oakvik, LeRoy Berning, Sandy Greninger
Fence at Central Park
- Poles have been installed for the net between field 1 and the church in right field. The net has been
purchased and will be installed before the softball season begins.
- Fence along first baselines at field 3 has been approved by Lions. Other parties are KC’s, AFCD, and
potentially Foxtailers Snowmobile Club. Anticipated donations are for $1,200 from each organization.
Skate park
- Committee recommends that the council approve purchase of skate park equipment up to $8,500.
2016 projects
- Resurface Oakside Park tennis court, Tim will get bids
- Linwood Park sign
- Update on Westwind Park: Committee is looking into updating the park with a $50,000-$70,000
budget. Larry will contact a college that might do a land survey, and Larry will report to Tim.
Grants
- Tim suggests we write grants through the DNR for park projects. Tim presented a list of updates the
DNR has recently funded.
Explore Your Parks Night
- The annual event will be Friday, May 20
