Albertville Parks Committee meeting minutes
February 22, 2016
Attendees: Tim Guimont, Sharon Oakvik, LeRoy Berning, Sandy Greninger, John Vetsch, Andy Swanson
Guests: Scott Pierson, Rick Kleist, Brian Hoeschen
Depot
- Lions members presented a preliminary plan for a depot building that would be constructed next to
the caboose in Central Park. Committee recommends the Council take the Lions club’s concept into
consideration for further project viability.
Daytime field rental
- If the city wants to consider renting fields, committee recommends finding out what other cities are
doing regarding field reservations.
Ball field lights
- Tim presented cost estimates from Musco Lighting to install lights on the baseball field in Central Park.
Committee tabled the subject until the next meeting.
Westwind Park
- Committee suggests that the City pursue grants that can be used to update Westwind Park. The
Committee will discuss specific park improvement suggestions and make recommendations to Council at
the next meeting.
Skate park equipment
- After discussion, Committee recommends the Council approve an $8,500 budget to purchase new
skate park equipment.

- Tabled, the annual event will be Friday, May 20
