Albertville Parks 1-23-17
Called to order 8:02
Attendees: Tim Guimont, John Vetsch, LeRoy Berning, Larry Boller, Andy Swanson
Street and Sidewalk Improvements
- Tim presented a map for street and sidewalk improvements that will be made this
summer. Improvement include removal of 8-foot bituminous trail and installation of
a 5-foot sidewalk along sections of 58 Street, Kalland Ave. and Karston Ave.; all
th
trails within Oakside Park will be overlayed; and a section of sidewalk along Kantar
Court from Oakside Park to Kalland Ave. will be added.
Albertville Train Depot
- Concept of train depot was presented by LeRoy. The committee offered
suggestions and endorsements of the overall plan.
Westwind Park
- As part of the Westwind Park rehab project, a boardwalk and plantings can be
added, but no parts of the adjacent swamp/grassland can be filled or altered. Park
grant application will be submitted by March with potential approval coming by
June.
- The committee agreed on a “woodsy” theme for the park to guide the design and
equipment selections.
