Attendees: Tim Guimont, Andy Swanson, Sharon Oakvik, LeRoy Berning, Larry Boller, Al Brixius, FYCC

1.2018 Parks Night
May 18 6-8 pm
Oakside: Sarah contacted Coborn’s and Health Source, waiting for reply.
Linwood: Johnny Vetsch popcorn with jet truck, will need generator
Westwind: Larry, Emma’s Express, boards to show park improvement plan, A.F.D.
Villas: Andy with Foxtailers, hot dogs (will need city grill), plow truck
Four Seasons: Tim, tree trimming tips, give away 100 seedlings, Andy’s Pizza
Winter: Sharon with Lions, hot dogs, Bob and mower, Wright County Sheriff and speed trailer

2.Central Park
Discussion about how to prioritize Central Park upgrades determined the features should be
made it the following order, subject to change:
1.Barthel property acquisition

2.58 St. realignment
3.Internal trails and expanded hard surface
4.Building treatments for upper pavilion

5.Main Ave. improvements/possible park entrance signs at Lander Ave. and 57 St.
6.Splash pad
7.Parking lot improvements
8.Playground equipment
9.Possible basketball court relocation
10.New warming house/park building
3.Cedar Creek Trail

Committee in favor of proposed paved trail in vicinity of Cedar Creek Golf Course. Secondly, 53
St. access is a first priority. Look at extending trail to high school intersection on north side of
Co. Rd. 18 (Jason Ave.) and extend trail along 18 to Co. Rd. 19 for access to Middle School West.
4.Sarah Hansen
Sarah will continue as a FYCC employee and will continue to work with the parks committee.
5.Westwind Park
Larry Boller met with several experts from STMA high school and Wright County to discuss a
plan for successful wildflower establishment in Westwind Park. Larry is working on a pollinator
wildflower seed grant.
6.Snowmobile corridor
There was discussion about taking steps to ensure continued snowmobile trail access through
Albertville. In light of other trail improvements, it was suggested to engage Al to help write a
resolution that would “stick” if a developer came in.
