Attendees: Tim Guimont, Andy Swanson, Sharon Oakvik, Larry Boller, LeRoy Berning, Johnny Vetsch,
FYCC coordinator Sarah Hansen, City Administrator Adam Nafstad
1.2018 Parks Night
May 18 6-8 pm
Oakside: Sarah, Coborn’s and Health Source, Mike with loader
Linwood: Johnny, popcorn (Ryan will bring generator), Gerald with jet truck
Westwind: Larry, Emma’s Express, boards to show Westwing Park improvement plan, A.F.D.
Villas: Andy with Foxtailers, hot dogs (will need city grill), plow truck, Tree of Life
Four Seasons: Tim, tree trimming seminar at 7:00, seedlings giveaway, Andy’s Pizza
Winter: Sharon with Lions, hot dogs, Bob and mower, Wright County Sheriff with speed trailer

2.Westwind Park
Concept for Westwind Park improvement has been put into construction drawing phase, and
anticipation is that the job will go out for bids this month. In process of selecting an open-ended
gazebo with design that will fit in with the “woodsy” theme. Also looking into a drinking fountain
and a screen or shelter for biffies.
3.Lions Park Pavilion
There will be discussion about Lions/Central Park at City Council meeting May 7. An item on the
committee’s wish list that caught attention of Council was to upgrade the Lions Pavilion because
it is an affordable and impactful project. Project is in discussion phase.
4.Bituminous trail along Karston Ave.
City plans to replace Karston Ave. bituminous trail with concrete within 1-2 years.
5.Vets Memorial
Adam Nafstad and Sarah Hansen were approached by Tom Zander about efforts to build a
Veterans memorial in the city.
