Albertville Parks Committee meeting minutes

Attendees: Tim Guimont, Larry Boller, FYCC coordinator Sarah Hansen, Adam Nafstad, Johnnie Vetsch,
LeRoy Berning, Andy Swanson
1.Westwind Park
After discussion about shelters for Westwind Park, Tim will get a price from Minnesota-
Wisconsin playground for a 16- by 20-foot structure; open timber truss design with gable ends
and tongue-and-groove ceiling. Will price out a metal roof and shingles. Omann Bros. will do site
work, trails and sidewalks. Initial boardwalk research by Adam shows helical piers would cost
about $125,000; pad style would be about $75,000. Pad style are what are used for bridges in
Winter Park and path near Albertville fire department building.
2.Central Park
Committee is in favor of proposed aesthetic improvements and additions to Lions Shelter in
Central Park. Improvements include size increase for better functionality during Albertville
Friendly City Days and Farmers Market, and designing to match style and features of the depot.
3.2019 Albertville Centennial Celebration
Event tentatively set for Sept. 21, 2019. Planning meeting will follow the August 27 Parks
Committee meeting.
