Albertville Parks Committee meeting minutes

Attendees: Sharon Oakvik, Tim Guimont, Larry Boller, Johnnie Vetsch, Andy Swanson, AFD Chief Eric
Bullen, Samara Postuma (city communications), LeRoy Berning
1.Westwind Park
-Boardwalk installation is in progress. All concrete work is complete except for stamped plaza
near the shelter. Committee unanimously voted for the wood paver ashler pattern, which
looks like the end of a log, brown color.
2.Lions Depot dedication
-Lions will host a depot dedication ceremony October 15 at the depot (6:00 pm before the
council meeting). Parks committee members are invited. Lions will also invite donors,
council members and Lions club members.
3.Barthel property acquisition
-Council approved entering into a purchase agreement for the Barthel property.
4.Albertville Centennial Celebration
-Larry presented a packet of information about the 1919 era with intent to spur ideas for
activities, themes and features of the event.
-Committee compiled a list of organizations to contact and solicit their help with the
celebration. Samara will send a letter to the organizations and invite them to the next
committee meeting.
