Albertville Parks Committee meeting 1-25-21

1. Central Park
- Adam asked the committee to consider having the hockey rink overlaid with asphalt, or
perhaps concrete. Committee recommends overlay with asphalt and leave boards as is.
- Committee discussed trails within park between Main Ave. parking lot and pedestrian
crosswalk at west end of plaza area. Suggestion is to make the parking lot concrete with a
stamped walkway that meanders from Main Ave. to the ped crosswalk. Al Brixius to provide
a park plan draft that shows the route of the walkway for committee to approve. LeRoy and
Tim to meet with Al to discuss these revisions.
- Next step is to build Farmers Market parking lot, stamped walkway through park, stamped
plaza (dance floor) and vehicle access road behind Depot. Suggestion is to explore geo-grid
for the road.
2. Gazebo
- Sarah suggested the city consider putting a gazebo in a park, perhaps in Central Park, as a
community gathering spot.
3. 2021 Explore Your Parks
- Committee considering hosting the event, though likely at only at Westwind park. Decision
and details TBD.
