1985-08-08 PC Minutes Minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission August 8, 1985 CITY OF ALBERTVILLE . ALBERTVILLE, MINNESOTA 55301 PHONE: 497-3384 The regular meeting and the public hearing of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order by Ray Vetsch at 7:35. People present included Brian Bebeau, Herb Scherber, Ray Vetsch, Donatus Vetsch, and Maureen Andrews. Pat Walsh and Don Berning were absent. Minutes of the July 29th meeting were read and thevfollDwing corrections were noted: Scherber said he was not at the July 29th meeting and Vetsch noted that the the distance of the setback should read 30' or 31' from the property line. In addition there were a couple of spelling errors in the typed copy the Commissioners recieved. The minutes were notedato reflect these changes. A motion to accept the corrected minutes was made by Bebeau and seconded by Vetsch. All were in favor. The public hearing for Gary Roehl's variance was the first order of business for the Commission. The request for a variance in the setback requirement from 35' to 30' or 31' from the property line~ order to build a new garage in the same proximity as the old one he his removing. Notices of the public hearing were mailed out to the surrounding neighbors and no objections were heard before the Planning and Zoning Commission. . There was some discussion on whether or not the building was going to be 30' or 31' from the property line and Vetsch requested that the minutes show that the building was not to be any closer than 30' from the line. A motion was made by Bebeau and seconded by Scherber that the variance should be granted with a minium setback restriction of 30' from the property line. All were in favor. This recommendation will be forwarded to the Council for their approval at the August 19th meeting. OLD BUSINESS There was discussion on whether or not Gary Gutzwiller has made any additional contact regarding his proposal to build a new building to;b.~ used for retail or light industry. To the best of everypne's knowledge ther~ has not been any new contact. ., NEW BUSINESS Preliminary discussion on rewriting the decided that we will need to meet twice We have agreed that we will meet on the City Hall, at 7:30.
