Over 200 people from the community attended, including Representative Eric Lucero, Senator Mary Kiffmeyer, ® Congressman Tom Emmer and Wright County Sheriff's - Office. The St. Michael, Rogers, Elk River and Buffalo Fire Departments also attended. 7 The memorial serves as both an entrance marker for the Albertville Fire Department and also recognizes those who have served on the department for various lengths of time, starting with those who have served 10+ years and then 20+ years. Fire Chief Eric Bullen explained that this is a project that has been in the works for many years and was completely funded by the Albertville Fire Relief Association through fundraising (specifically, calendar fundraising) and other donations, including the Albertville Lions. The memorial is a true local Minnesota project. The stone is from a quarry in Minnesota and the work was done by Cold Spring Granite. The depot was constructed to replicate a depot originally built in 1885. Previously, the Lions obtained and restored a 1964 caboose, very similar to one that once traveled the railroad through Albertville. The Lions hope this Rail Station project will attract visitors to reflect on days gone by and share stories with future generations. The Rail Station will also serve as a meeting place and an area for park and community programs throughout the year. 5959 Main Ave. NE I PO Box 9 1 Albertville, MN 55301 ©CITY NEWSLETTER Phone: 763.497.3384 1 Fax: 763.497.3210 SPRING/SUMMER 2019 www.d.alberwille.mmus HALEY ROGERS - 2019 QUEEN OF T14C LAKES (eon't) an opportunity to become the Queen of the Lakes or one of two Aquatennial Princesses. For many homes, they can mean the difference between a dry basement or having to deal with moisture and flooding issues. Even during the winter months, many of our homes are very dependent on sump pumps. It is important to make sure your pump is working properly, and it is equally as important to make sure the discharge line is draining properly away from your house (and not directed to your neighbor's property). ■ Debt (Annual General Obligation Bond Payments) ■ General Government (All Other Depts. & Buildings) ■ Public Works (building, streets, etc.) w Economic Development ■ Planning & Zoning ■ Public Safety (Police & Fire) Culture & Recreation (Parks, Library, Senior Center, etc.) Capital Reserves (set aside for future purchases) TRASH/RECYCLE CONTAINERS To help ensure Albertville's neighborhoods remain attractive, please remember that trash and recycling containers should be stored in the garage or in the side or rear yard and screened, if possible, from neighboring properties.
