Alysta lives over three hours away, so the Royal Court family arranged for her and her family to stay in Albertville at the Country Inn & Suites. The hotel donated a room and another was paid for by contributions from Don's Auto and WESTAIR Corporation. A pink stretch limousine surprised the family at the hotel to take them and the Royal Court to The Lookout Bar and Grill where they received a complimentary dinner. Royal dad Mikal presented Alysta's mom with a check for $1,000 and a month of bills paid for by Bell State Bank and Trust. A beautiful, white gown was donated by River Inn Bar & Grill and Alysta received a crown to wear. A sash, especially made for her and donated by C&C Embroidery, and a "Queen's" pin completed her outfit. Alysta and the Albertville Royal Court rode in the Osseo Lion's Roar Parade and Alysta waved and smiled from the Royal Court float. After the parade, she was surprised with a gift basket of items donated by local businesses. The Albertville Royal Court thanks everyone for their donations, dedication, and desire to make this an unforgettable event for Alysta. WINTER PARKING AND SNOW REMOVAL Winter Parking Restrictions: Parking restrictions will be in effect from November 1 to April 1. During this period, no parking is allowed on City streets between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. regardless of weather conditions. Residents should refrain from parking vehicles on the street during and after a snowfall until the plows have cleared the street. Mailbox Repairs: The Public Works Department is gearing up for winter and the upcoming plowing season. Now is a good time to check your mailboxes and posts. Check for obvious damage such as cracked boards and posts, missing screws, etc. Also, look at ground level to make sure your post is still in good condition and will withstand the weight of snow from the plows. Repairs are easier to do now than when the ground is frozen. The City will not be responsible for mailboxes knocked over as a result of a weak post. Trash Cans: During the snow season, Public Works asks residents to refrain from putting trash cans on the street or sidewalk. Trash cans should be out of the way, so snow plow drivers can safely clear the streets for residents. Snow Forts: Parents should make sure their child's snow fort is set well back from the street and driveway and refrain from allowing snow forts in the mounds of snow left at the ends of driveways from snow plows. Snow Removal: Property owners should shovel, plow or blow snow onto their property or boulevard adjacent to their property and not in the street. It is unlawful to place snow on a public street. Snow placed in the street can become compacted and could turn into hard mounds of ice. It can be dangerous if a plow truck hits these mounds of ice and could result in damage to the plow truck. PET REMINDERS Just a friendly reminder that when your dog is off your property, your dog must be leashed with a leash no longer than six feet in length and should not be allowed on other properties without the homeowner's or business owner's consent. All feces should be picked up in all public places, including parks. CARING FOR KIDS: YOUR LOCAL TOY DRIVE Hosted by the Hanover Food Shelf November 20 -December 18 New, unwrapped toys are needed for kids ages 0-18. Toys can be dropped off at Albertville City Hall Monday — Thursday, 7:00 a.m. — 5:30 p.m. The toy drive benefits over 500 local STMA-Hanover area families.
