Albertville Parks Committee meeting 2-22-21

1. Central Park
- Adam to update Central Park concept that reflects committee’s recommendation to change
the route of the path as the committee discussed.
- Committee recommends that Adam get estimates for concrete parking lot and trail as
discussed.
- Committee recommends estimate for geo-grid for road on north side of depot.
- Committee recommends estimate for crushed granite.
2. Special event permit
- FYCC requests a permit for dueling pianos event June 25 at Central Park Depot. Music will
play from 7-10 pm. Committee supports the event and recommends FYCC take permit
request to the City Council.
3. Thursday Night Music in the Park
- Committee recommends the Council support Albertville Lions Thursday Music in the Park for
summer 2021.
4. Puppet Wagon
- Sarah proposed the city consider a puppet wagon that would go to city parks and perform
for children. Discussion included logistics, staff and scheduling. Sandy will explore potemtial
for partnership with Albertville, Hanover and/or St. Michael Lions groups.
5. Wright County Parks & Recreation
- Sarah is a member of the Wright County Parks & Recreation commission.
6. New parks committee member
- Committee has had a vacancy, since Q3 2019. Interested people should contact the City with
a letter of interest.
7. Westwind Park Shade Sail
- Recommendation to install a shade sail on Westwind Park viewing platform. Tim to get
estimate for a shade.
8. Summer meeting
- Sarah proposes that the committee meets in the parks in the summer, and/or the
committee has a park tour in the spring or summer.
