1. Parks Committee overview
Attendees reviewed a document from Nafstad about the Albertville Parks Committee.The
document described the committee's purpose, its meetings, members and terms, duties and
responsibilities.
2. Review of park funding
Nafstad provided a summary of park funding, budgets and reserves.
3. Review completed projects(past 5 years)
Projects include lighting on Central Park baseball field; construction of the depot; Barthel
property acquisition, demolition and development;Westwind Park rehabilitation project;
rehabilitation and addition to Central Park Lions Pavilion; 58t" Street realignment; Central Park
skate park and basketball court; City of Albertville Centennial Celebration (2019).
4. Update/develop project priority list
The committee discussed future projects and priorities. Discussion included:
- Central Park walkway
- Depot plaza
- Central Park/Main Ave. streetscape
- Main Ave. land purchase
- Replacement or repurposing of warming house
- Central Park water feature
- Central Park play structures
- Pocket park play structure replacement(Linwood)
- Outdoor ice rink pad replacement(covered facility?)
- Maintenance/storage building in Central Park
- Pocket Park drinking fountains (Linwood,Villas, Hunters, etc.)
- Trail system additions
- Playfields near compost facility
- Sledding hill
- Second outdoor ice rink
- Stage in Central Park
- Bathroom facilities in Central Park
- Jason Ave. pedestrian crossing
- Cedar Creek trail
- Trees
- Dirt/pervious surface trail along Maciver Ave. and around lakes
- Trail crossing CR 37/1-94
