2022-03-28 Parks Committee Minutes Albertville Parks Committee meeting 3-28-22
Attendees:Tim Guimont,Andy Swanson,Terry James, Lauryn White, LeRoy Berning, Rob Olson
The committee did not meet last month, as was originally planned.
1. Explore Your Parks Night planning
- Discussion at the November 2021 meeting included having the event exclusively at Central
Park where people could get"Park Passports"they would use tour the parks within
following week(or so) and answer survey questions to prove they visited the park. Survey
data and information could be used to steer the city on future park projects.
- 2022 EYP Night will be May 20 at Central Park, 6-8pm. Event details/amenities TBD.
- Discussed options to advertise the event include Facebook,water bill, city newsletter
- Discussed having a group cook hot dogs, chips,water, popcorn, LeRoy to check on orange
drink. Possible to use royalty to serve food?

- LeRoy checking on clowns and Third Lair guy to come out for skate park,Terry checking on
clowns/magic show,AFD,jet truck, plow truck, county deputy,family entertainment
- All parks will have a QR Code with survey question(s). Survey question brainstorm: Have you
been to this park before?What could be improved?Are you aware of Project X,Y or Z? Did
you know that this park's 2019 renovation was funded by the city of Albertville and the
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources? How would you like to see this space utilized?
What is the best feature of this park?What would you like to see improved?And a historical
fact.
Linfield Park
Committee reviewed playground structures. Committee recommends the Burke Nucleus 3069 in
Natural Retro color. City will email the HOA to make it aware of the planned change.
