2022-10-06 Code Enforcement Letter for Albertville Outlet MallOctober 6, 2022 Ms. Janet Fawcett Simon Property Group Southdale Center 10 Southdale Center Edina, MN 55435 Albertville Outlet Mall 6415 Labeaux Avenue NE Albertville MN 55301 RE: Albertville Code Enforcement -illegal land use at 6500 Labeaux Avenue NE, parcel PIO: 101-095-001-010 FILE NO: 163.05 Dear Ms. Fawcett, In July 2022, the Albertville Outlet Mall inquired about amending its approved planned unit development to allow overnight semi parking at the 6500 Labeaux Avenue site. In response to your inquiry, the City sent out the necessary development application forms. City Staff informed you that your request for the parking of semi-trucks/trailers and/or storage of containers on the east outlet mall site is not permitted under the approved list of uses which is part of the Albertville Premium Outlet Mall Planned Unit Development zoning district. City Staff did not find that this type of use to be in keeping with stated objectives for the Outlet Mall and its approved list of uses. We informed you that while you may pursue the PUD district amendment, it may not be well received and/or approved. No application has been submitted. Following this correspondence, we met with you on August 3, 2022, to discuss this matter further and we shared the Outlet Mall signed PUD agreement with you and explained that the semi-truck and trailer parking was illegal per the approved Outlet Mall PUD. The semi­ parking was to be immediately discontinued. If this use continued, the City would pursue code enforcement actions. During the meeting, you indicated that you arranged to have the Sheriff department to prevent semi-trucks from using the site for parking.
