1. Interview Candidate Pat Adamski for Open Parks Position - Pat Adamski was interviewed and
the Committee recommended that the City Council appoint him to the committee.
2. Chemistry Lesson – a discussion was led by Larry on the importance of trees. It was discussed
that the committee would further research areas where more trees could be added in parks and
other city owned property.
3. Christmas Decorations/Tree Lighting - The committee recommended that the city continue to
acquire Christmas decorations and that the city look into lighting the tree that is adjacent to 37
and 94, south of Don’s Auto.
4. Parking Lot and Sliding Hill at Highline Park - the committee discussed the feasibility of adding a
sledding hill in Town Lakes, within the open area to the east of the dog park. No decision was
made. The idea was tabled.
5. Parks Night 2023 – Friday May 19th - The correct night for this event will be May 19th. No
further discussion was had.
6. Review Proposed signage – park rules – Adam Nafstad presented a set of potential rules for
new signage to be posted at all of the parks. The most relevant rules were selected and the city

7. Central Park Parking lot design – potential designs were discussed. It was decided to present
the designs to the Lions and to give them an opportunity to weigh in on the design, since they
are one of the main users of Central Park.
8. Towne Lakes and CSAH 37 trail connections – The idea was proposed to install a walking trail
that would connect the current trails on CSAH 37 with the east side of the bridge over 94. A
pedestrian bridge was also discussed and there is a possibility that the city could get grants or
assistance with the funding from the state and the county. The pedestrian bridge would also
potentially allow snowmobiles to safely cross the freeway, away from motor vehicle traffic.
Currently, pedestrians and snowmobiles have to be on the shoulder of the bridge which is very
unsafe. In addition to the trails on CSAH 37, a trail or sidewalk could be added to come out of
the East side of Towne Lakes.
9. Review layout for pickleball/basketball court at Oakside – a design was submitted for dividing
the current tennis courts at Oakside into two pickleball courts and one basketball court. The
committee recommended that the city to request a quote and make plans for the conversion in
the spring.
