Present:Terrill James,Pat Adamski,Leroy Berning,Larry Boller,Lauryn White,Tim Guimont,Rob Olson
1.Updates
a.Naming Rights -The group discussed allowing businesses and organizations to sponsor
sections of the new Central Park playground and water feature,patterned after the
method used in St.Michael’s Town Center Park.Lauryn and Terry will create a formal
document to pass along to the city council for consideration.
2.Parks Night 2023 –Friday May 19th
a.Which parks -The event will be held at Four Seasons,Westwind,and Linwood Parks.
b.Food &Swag -Community groups are asked to provide hot dogs,chips,and drinks at
each park.(Four Seasons–Lions,Westwind–Foxtailers,Linwood–FYCC and/or Rotary)
Groups will also be encouraged to bring swag to give away to guests.
c.Entertainment ideas -The group decided to invite a balloon artist to each park.Each
location will also have a fire truck and/or public works equipment.The K-9 unit and
Albertville Royalty will make scheduled visits to each park.Republic Services expressed
interest in attending again to pass out information and swag.
d.Park surveys -The group decided not to do park surveys but rather have residents give
input on the plans for Central Park.In lieu of digital surveys,Lauryn will look into
creating a scavenger hunt of some kind in each park,possibly utilizing QR codes.
e.Park assignments -Four Seasons–Larry,Linwood–Terry,Westwind–Tim &Lauryn
Tim will look into the possibility of getting some high school volunteers to help out.
3.Central Park
a.Parking Lot -The group reviewed the updated parking lot concept and requested to
move the handicap space to the other side of the lot.The committee recommends the
city move forward with this project with a goal to complete it before Friendly City Days.
4.Pickleball/Basketball court at Oakside -The group revisited the topic of replacing the tennis
courts at Oakside Park with a combination of basketball/pickleball and recommends that the
council move ahead with this project.
