Present:Terrill James,Leroy Berning,Larry Boller,Lauryn White,Tim Guimont,Adam Nafstad,

1.Updates
a.Scoreboard -The new scoreboard is ordered,and the city is waiting on a delivery date.
b.Naming Rights -Adam will draft a naming rights policy for consideration by City Council.
2.Parks Night 2023 –Friday May 19th
a.Event setup -Public works staff and high school volunteers will deliver grills,tables,
drinks,and cups to each park.Each group serving hot dogs will be responsible to provide
its own condiments.
b.Event locations -The following groups &reps will be at each location:
■Four Seasons Park -Larry,Lions,Fire Dept.
■Linwood Park -Terry,FYCC,STMA Rotary
■Westwind Park -Lauryn,Foxtailers
c.Entertainment -Each location will have a balloon artist as well as a fire truck or public
works equipment on display.The K-9 unit and Albertville Royalty are scheduled to make
visits to each park.Larry will confirm the schedule with Royalty.
d.Park Concepts -Adam will print up signage with concepts from Central Park and Oakside
for parks night guests to view and comment on.
e.Scavenger Hunt -Each park will have its own digital scavenger hunt for attendees to
complete for a chance to win a prize basket donated by FYCC.Lauryn will send around a
draft for review by committee members.
3.Central Park
a.Parking Lot -City Council has approved the bid for the parking lot and hopes to begin
construction right after Friendly City Days.
b.Playground -The group discussed surface options for the new playground.The
committee was encouraged to look at the equipment catalogs for Midwest Playscapes
and Landscape Structures for possible themes and equipment to include in the new
park.
c.DNR Grant -Adam shared that he would like to apply for a grant of $150,000 next year.
4.Towne Lakes and CSAH 37 trail connections -The city has received a grant to study a pedestrian
bridge in this area.
5.Pickleball/Basketball court at Oakside -The group discussed the possible expansion of the
parking lot at Oakside Park to go along with the replacement of the tennis courts.
