1.Central Park Playground -The group discussed playground options with Bailey from
Flagship/Landscape Structure Int ’l.Bailey will have her team begin working on a couple
of design options.Tim plans to have another playground vendor (Midwest Playscapes)
visit at the next meeting.In the meantime,members should review playground
equipment catalogs and send any requests for specific themes or pieces to Tim.
2.Parks Night 2023 –Members discussed the recent Explore Your Parks Night event.It
seems there was a good turnout for the event and that attendees generally had a good
time.The team would like to repeat the event next year with the same setup—3 parks,3
groups serving food—but possibly double up on entertainment vendors.The scavenger
hunt piece was nice to have but not really necessary,as most families simply enjoyed the
parks and playgrounds.
3.Updates
a.Central Park Parking Lot -Construction will begin following Friendly City Days.
b.Athletic Courts –Tim is looking into options for the pickleball/basketball court at
Oakside Park as well as resurfacing the tennis court at Linwood.
4.Parks Guide -The group discussed the possibility of having the new city parks guide
printed and stuffed into residents’water bills.
