RE: PYSK'S 6TH ADDmON
Dear Board Members:
We reviewed the plans and specifications for Pysk's 6th Addition. The watermain plans and
specifications meet the requirements set forth by the Joint Powers Water Board. One
concern with the watermain is that this extension creates a temporary 2,000 foot dead end.
The eight inch diameter watermain will pass a fire flow for the 2,000 feet but the
opportunity for stale water or water service interruption is a concern. It is reasonable to
require that the phasing of future projects will be made to complete a watermain loop at the
earliest opportunity. The layout of future phases needs to be provided to show how and
when the watermain will be looped.
We recommend this set of plans and specifications be approved. We also recommend the
Board put the developer on notice that future extensions may not be approved dependent
upon phasing and looping of the watermain.
Sincerely,
MSA, CONSULTING ENGINEERS
