Present:Leroy Berning,Larry Boller,Pat Adamski,Lauryn White,Tim Guimont,Rob Olson
Absent:Terrill James
1.Guest Presentation:Inclusive Playgrounds –Area resident Sarah Nelson (BSN,RN)
presented to the group about the importance of inclusivity in playground design and
asked that the committee consider ways to make future city playgrounds more inclusive
of all children,particularly those who are wheelchair-bound.
2.Guest Presentation:Midwest Playscapes –Representatives Bruce and Andrew from
Midwest Playscapes presented to the group about their company and the many
playground products they offer.After some discussion with the group about its desires
for the Central Park playground,Andrew said that his team would send over some
design concepts for the park in a few weeks.
3.Central Park Playground –Tim reminded the group that Landscape Structures is also
working on a design for the park.The committee hopes to review designs from both
vendors at the next meeting.Rob suggested hosting a joint meeting between the Parks
Committee and the City Council to discuss ongoing plans for Central Park.

d.Central Park Parking Lot -construction in process
e.Oakside Park -Adam is looking into details for the parking lot.
5.Basketball Courts -Tim is getting quotes for the resurfacing of basketball courts at
Hunter ’s Pass and Winter Park.
6.Central Park Water Feature –Leroy suggested asking the Albertville Lions to sponsor the
construction of the new water feature in Central Park,which would include memorial
spaces that could be sponsored by residents.The committee agreed to explore the idea.
Leroy will connect with Adam to get an approximate price for the build before
presenting the idea to the Lions.
7.Farewell to Larry Boller –The committee thanked Larry for his service to the City of
Albertville and wished him well on his new season of life in Florida.
