1991-02-22 Engineering Review of Manholes MEYER-ROHLIN, INC. ENGINEERS-LAND SURVEYORS 1111 Hwy. 25 N., Buffalo, Minn.55313 Phone 612-682-1781 MEMORANDUM TO: FROM: DATE: RE: Albertville City Council Norman Gartner, P.E. February 22, 1994 Runoff water inflow into the sewer system On Monday, February 21, 1994, Ken Lindsay called and informed me that the sewer system in the Westwind area had experienced extremely high flows over the weekend. Ken and I made a field inspection the same day. We determined that runoff from the recent snow melt had drained into the last manhole along CSAH 37 in the parkside Second Addition project. See the attached map. This manhole currently does not have its casting and rings in place, since the watermain and right turn lane must still be installed in this area. Once the casting and rings have been installed, the manhole will be at least 1.5 feet higher and will not have any more inflow problems. As an interim solution, Ken and I decided to install a sewer ball in the downstream side of this manhole to plug the sewer and prevent inflow from entering the sewer system. I will take care of this by Wednesday, February 23, 1994. End of Memorandum cc: Kenco Construction Latour Construction, Inc. Thore P. Meyer, Professional Engineer Robert Rohlin, Licensed Land Surveyor
