Box 9, Albertville, Minnesota 55301-0009 SUBMITTER(S): Westwood Professional Services, Inc., 7599 Anagram Drive, Eden Prairie, Minnesota 55344 Plans Dated: Date Received: June 5, 2003 Date Reviewed: June 12,2003 SCOPE: This report covers the design of this project insofar as the safety and sanitary quality of the water for public consumption may be affected, and applies to this project only and not to the entire system or any other part thereof. The examination of plans is based upon the supposition that the data on which the design is based are correct, and that necessary legal authority has been obtained to construct the project. The responsibility for the design of structural features and the efficiency of equipment must be taken by the project designer. Approval is contingent upon satisfactory disposition of any requirements included with this report. Water supply plans are examined with regard to the location, construction and operational features of the design and maintenance of all parts of the system which may affect the safety and sanitary quality of the water. Examination is based on the standards of this department. This project consists of the installation of the following watermains: 1. 1,552 lineal feet of 12-inch PVC watermain. 2. 175 lineal feet of lO-inch PVC watermain. 3. 1,476 lineal feet of 8-inch PVC watermain. 4. 603 lineal feet of 6-inch PVC watermain. REQUlREMENT(S): 1. It is understood that the installation will be in accordance with previously approved specifications (City Engineers Association of Minnesota, 1999 edition). 2. It is recommended that a hydraulic analysis be conducted to assure that a minimum 20 psi is obtained at the fire hydrant on the 6-inch dead end during fire flow conditions. If the 20 psi is not obtained, the fire hydrant should be eliminated or replaced with a flushing hydrant. This refers to the dead end on Private Drive 5 on Sheet No.8. COMPLIANCE: No construction shall take place except in accordance with the approved plans. If it is desired to make deviations from the approved plans, the State Department of Health should be consulted and approval of the changes obtained before construction is started; otherwise, such construction is installed without proper approval, and in addition may create dangers to public health. Towne Lakes 3rd Addition Watermain Plan No. 033889 Page 2 June 12,2003 Authorization for construction in accordance with the approved plans may be withdrawn if construction is not undertaken within a period of two years. The fact that the plans have been approved does not necessarily mean that recommendations or requirements for change will not be made at some later time when changed conditions, additional information, or advanced knowledge make improvements necessary. ~~ Brian A.
