Re: City of Albertville; Change of Status of Mud and School Lakes.
Dear John:
On December 5, 2000, the City of Albertville requested that the DNR consider the
reclassification of Mud and School Lakes in Albertville, Minnesota from Natural
Environment Lakes to General Development Lakes. After further consideration and
consultation with your office, the City has determined that an amendment to its shoreland
ordinance in consultation with DNR staff and approval of the ordinance by the DNR
should provide an adequate vehicle to address the unique development issues facing the
lakes area in Albertville.
Accorditlgly, the City formally withdraws its request to reclassify the lakes, and
will be conta. cting DNR staff as work on the draft ordinance progresses. Thank you for
the time and eftort you and your staff have dedicated to the City's request.
Sincerely,
