Present:Pat Adamski,Leroy Berning,Terrill James,Lauryn White,Rob Olson,Tim Guimont,

1.Guest Presentation:Landscape Structures –Bailey from Landscape Structures
presented an updated design for the Central Park playground.The committee provided
feedback on the equipment and layout,which LSI will work into the design for review at
the next meeting.Midwest Playscapes will be invited to the next meeting as well.
2.Hunters Park –Tim shared a resident ’s request for the addition of play equipment that
appeals to older children,as well as a request for pickleball striping on the basketball
court.The group discussed options for these.Tim will consider the maintenance
schedule for this park to see if upgrades can be scheduled to coincide with resurfacing.
3.Central Park
a.Tables –The group discussed requests for tables to be made available in the
farmer ’s market shelter during the summer.The city will consider implementing a
policy regarding occasional reservations of this shelter and/or table rental.
b.Naming Rights –City council discussed naming rights at a recent meeting and is
open to the idea,depending on the revenue it could generate.The committee
estimated that business sponsorship could offset park costs by around $100,000.
c.Lighting –The group reviewed possible lighting options for the park pathway and
agreed that the lighting should be kept below the tree canopy and put on timers.
4.Parks Committee –The city has received two applications for the open seat on the Parks
Committee.The committee plans to interview both applicants at the October meeting.
