SUBJECT: CITY CLERK – CANVASS 2024 ELECTION RESULTS
RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully requested that the Mayor and Council consider the
following:
MOTION TO: adopt Resolution No. 2024-34 canvassing the local returns of the November 5,
2024, General Election and declaring the results of the election.
BACKGROUND: The City Council serves as the Canvassing Board. The Canvassing Board
must meet no sooner than three days after the election and no later than ten days after the
election and requires at least a quorum of the Board. The Board must review the results for
correctness. If the Board is satisfied that the tabulation of the votes is correct, the Board may
make the results official. The Official results for the offices of Mayor and City Council members
are as follows.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS: The Canvassing Board must follow State Statute 205.185 as
follows:
Subd. 3. Canvass of returns, certificate of election, ballots, disposition.
(a) Between the third and tenth days after an election, the governing body of a city conducting
any election including a special municipal election, or the governing body of a town conducting
the general election in November shall act as the canvassing board, canvass the returns, and
declare the results of the election.

RESOLUTION 2024-34
A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING RESULTS OF THE
NOVEMBER 5, 2024 GENERAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the City of Albertville held a municipal election for the office of Mayor and
two City Council members on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, during the General Election; and
WHEREAS, on this 12th day of November, 2024, the City Council met to canvass said
election results; and
WHEREAS, the votes tabulated at said election were:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Albertville City Council that the
following candidates for the offices of Mayor and City Council Member were elected at the
November 5, 2024, regular municipal election for the respective terms to commence January 1,
2025:
Mayor Jillian Hendrickson 2-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2026
Council Member Aaron Cocking 4-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2028
Council Member John Hayden 4-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2028
