SPECIAL (X)UNCIL MEETING
OC.TOBER 28, 1988
A special meeting of the Albertville City Council was called to order by
Mayor Loretta Roden. Members present included Gary Schwenzfeier, Donatus
Vetsch and Bob Braun. Council member Don Cornelius was at --)sent. Others present
included Maureen Andrews.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and approve the purchase of a

member of the Council had been informed that the equipment was available and a
couple of the members had had an opportunity to check the equipment out prior
to the special meet it g .
Donatus Vetsch asked about the make of the tractor and how old was the
equipment. He was informed that the equipment was made by Hustler and is
approximately 10 years old. There was also some discussion about the
availability of parts and it appears that they are available through
MacQueen's Equipment Inc. out of St. Paul.
Gary Schwenzfeier explained that he had checked with Corcoran, which is
the city that had the equipment prior to the party that the City was
purchasing it from. He told the other members of the Council that they had had
very little problem with the equipment and that the only replacement that they
had to make was the gear case which had worn because of manufacturers defect.
Gary stated that they had used the tractor and broom to clean ice in the
winter and that it had done a good job. It was also pointed out that there was
a mowing attachment included with the sale of the tractor which could be used
in the event that the City's other mowing equipment is out of commission. It
was suggested that since the equipment is air cooled it should be used only on
a limited basis in order to keep it in good operating condition.
Other items discussed was that the equipment had good clearance and the
tires l(.xDked to be in good shape.
The Council next discussed the sale of the old street sweeper. The
G,urcil was informed t that DJ's had offered the City $700.00 for the equipment

as long as the City stored it for the winter. In addition to the DJ"s bid, the
Council was informed that MacQueen`s had offered the City $600.00 plus a cab
for the new ice sweeper which was estimated to be worth $300.00, making the
value of the sale $900.00. It was agreed that since the second bid was the
better deal, the Council should authorize the sale of the street sweeper.
