FINGALSON, P.E. Highway Engineer 682.7388 VIRGIL G. HAWKINS, P.E. Assistant Highway Engineer 682-7387 RICHARD E. MARQUETTE Right of Way Agent 999 68e-7386 .- We are in receipt of a copy of a letter from you dated 8/30/99 that you sent to the City of Albertville City Council members and Planning Commissioners and also a letter from you dated 8/30/99 to our office regarding the schedule of the CSAH 18 reconstruction. We offer the following comments to clarify some of the erroneous statements in your letters. 1) I do not recall having a conversation with you regarding placement of trails along CSAH 18. We have, however, discussed trails with Pete Carlson of SEH/RCM, as well as the feasibility of other design options for CSAH 18 within the City of Albertville, within the last three (3) weeks. If you had contacted our office regarding this matter we would have informed you that we will continue to work with the City of Albertville to arrive at a design section that is acceptable to the City. Trails located within the CSAH 18 right-of-way would be at City expense, as well as the additional right-of-way needed to accommodate the trails within the right-of-way. 2) Enclosed please find a copy of the latest 5-year plan that was approved by the Wright County Board of Commissioners in the spring of 1998. The 5-year plan indicates the reconstruction of CR 118 (now CSAH 18) from Fenning Ave. in Monticello to CSAH 37 in the year 1999. It also indicates the reconstruction of CR 118 from CSAH 37 to CSAH 19 in the year 2000. This was discussed with you at a meeting with myself and Wayne Fingalson in 1997. However, this schedule has changed, and it is more than likely that the portion of CSAH 18 in front of the golf course (from CSAH 37 to CSAH 19) will be reconstructed in the year 2001, not 2000, as indicated in the 5-year plan.
