Minutes
Present: Pat Adamski Leroy Berning, Nina Durand, Tim Guimont, Adam Nafstad, Rob
Olson, Alanna Lau, Lauryn White
Not Present:
1.Central Park
1.Playground - The trees and playground equipment have been removed. Next is
the ground work and cement. We are hoping for a Fall 2025 completion. Adam
is going to see what he can do about a city FB post about the park update. We
also discussed the need for a closer porta potty to the new park. Adam is going
to look into options. The committee prefers a handicap option.
2.Water Feature - Adam shared the design that has been approved by the city
council. The water feature will be included in the park project.
3.Field Updates - Leroy, Pat, and Adam are going to discuss the scoreboard and
possibly bring it up to the Lions for sponsorship.
4.Fence/Netting - We discussed the need for replacing the fence between the
church and the new park. We would prefer to avoid a chain link fence. We will
also need new netting for the baseball field.
2. Other Updates
1.Main Avenue Updates - The project is under contract. The utilities are first,
and it could take awhile for them to coordinate, but construction will begin
soon.
2.Linwood Park Athletic Courts - As soon as the truck can get to the court after
the ground dries out, this will be completed.
3.Four Seasons Park - A drinking fountain was approved to be added. The
plumbing is already there.
4.Lions Bench - The committee decided that it would be nice to add this bench
to the Main Ave project near the FYCC Building. Specific location TBD.
5.Baseball Field Requests - It was brought to our attention that there is a
request for fences in the outfields at some of the smaller fields. It was decided
that if the Baseball Association wants to donate the funds for any outfield
fences, they could be installed if they meet the requirements that were given to
them regarding a cement base. We are also aware of the need for more fields.
However, at this time we are focusing on the new park and we don’t have much
Realestate for more fields in Albertville at this time.
