MINUTES July 20, 2026 – 6:15 pm

1.Call to Order
Mayor Hendrickson called the workshop to order at 6:23 pm.
Present: Mayor Hendrickson, Councilmembers Cocking, Olson and Zagorski.
Councilmember Hayden arrived at 6:39 pm.
Staff Present: City Administrator Nafstad, Fire Chief Bullen, Finance Director Lannes and City
Clerk Luedke.
2. 2027 Preliminary Budget Presentation
City Administrator Nafstad presented an overview of the budget, including potential staffing
changings, infrastructure and equipment needs, project planning and possible economic
development initiatives in 2027. He also reviewed several potential future projects, including
redevelopment of the compost site, updates to the Central Park building and/or the Fire Hall, and
possible construction of a pedestrian bridge. City Administrator Nafstad responded to questions
from the Council regarding the budget presentation and proposed projects.
Finance Director Lannes provided additional information regarding the budget and reported that
ABDO will present the Long Range Financial Plan at the next budget workshop.
Fire Chief Bullen responded to Council’s questions regarding the fire department calls and
related activities.
The Council discussed the draft budget and potential future projects.
3.Adjournment
MOTION made by Councilmember Olson, second by Councilmember Zagorski to adjourn the
meeting at 6:58 pm. Ayes: Cocking, Hayden, Hendrickson, Olson and Zagorski. Nays: None.
The motion carried.
