Re: Trail Construction - Towne Lakes 5th
Dear Adam:
Just a follow up from last night's City Council meeting regarding the
trail proposed between Lots in Blocks 4 and 5. It is my
understanding, per the city council, that the trail will go as originally
proposed with flexibility granted for the slope of the trail. The City
will allow slopes that will exceed handicap accessibility
requirements (ADA), and that the city may sign the trail accordingly.
The City also discussed the options of allowing the trail to be
reduced in width to a 6 foot wide bituminous or 5 ft concrete walk to
minimize impacts to existing and future homes adjacent the trail.
We will explore these options from a construction and cost stand
point.
CPDC will begin scheduling the installation of the path from the park
through Lots 5 and 6, Block 5. We met on site with the owner of Lot
6, "Joe" regarding construction of his fence and indicated he needed
to stay off the city's trail easement which he agreed to. There will
be some small utility pedestals that we will need to relocate in this
area to continue the trail out to the sidewalk.
I want to thank you for your assistance in this matter. I am also
sorry to have brought this item before the council and put you
thought the brain damage however, I do believe it was worth the
exercise so future considerations by the council at the last minute
hopefully will be avoided without the proper engineering analysis. I
am confident with the above flexibility we can build a trail that will
appease all.
Sincerely
~
